Hey folks,
Today I noticed that the rear passenger wheel well on my car appeared to have a much larger area of clearance above the tire than the rear driver's side. I decided to check my visual acuity by implementing a high tech measuring device...I used a tape measure...
I was right...the distance from ground to the highest point on the wheel well passenger side was 28.5" vs. 28.0" on the driver's side. I took the same measurements on the front wheels and those matched up with each other. I took these measurements with the car located at several points within my driveway and garage to confirm the ground was level.
Here is my question...though it is merely 1/2 of an inch, should I be concerned? Are there components in the ride system that can fail and create this disparity? Does anyone know the factory spec for this measurement and can it vary from one side to the other assuming equal loading on each side? Now that I know that there is a difference, it appears huge to me.
If I am worried about nothing, let me know.
Thanks
Robb
