I understand that the Gymkhana Suspension option replaced the stock spring with a 7 leaf spring and a rear sway bar. Is this correct and if so, where there any other changes?

Bob

Stiffer springs front and rear, thicker front sway bar, and added a rear sway bar.

Gymkhana Suspension

Bob,

Here's what little I know. The Gymkhana Suspension was offered on the 75 - 82 Vettes as the (FE-7) suspension option and included:

1. Special front springs and shocks
2. Special rear (7 leaf) spring and matching shocks
3. Special front stabilizer bar (1 3/32") with H/D rubber mounting hardware.
4. Special rear stabillizer bar (7/16') with H/D rubber mounting hardware.

If there is anything else you need to know about this subject the experts for both parts and information are located at Contempory Corvette in Bristol, PA.

Regards - Remo

Thanks Remo.

Shawn78 and I have been going back and forth on whether or not a Vette that shipped with the factory trailer hitch came with the FE7 option and a heavy duty radiator. He had information that it did and I didn't know. With this info I'll at least be able to look at the suspension.

Anyone know about the radiator?

Bob

No rear sway bar = no Gymkhana = not a factory installed trailer hitch. :(
Well at least that is good to know - I'll just keep the trailer hitch hidden behind the license plate. :eyerole
Bob, Thanks for this post. :)
Shawn
