H.I.D. headlamp conversion

They will not fit because the high voltage cable must have its connector cut off in order to get the cable through the C4's pop-up's hinge tube. The you have voided the warrantee, and may not be able to spice the cable back together again. Caveat emptor!!!!

Can't you mount the ballast in the flip assembly? That way only the 12v wires go through the hinge tube.

ps - a ZR1 guy installed the Sylvania kit...

Tha ballast fits nicely under the cover so only the 12 volts wires need to be run through. And you do not have to "void" any warranty or anything else.

I just put silverstar's in my Lincoln (don't drive the vette much at night anyway), they produce very white light.... which is generally what you are trying to get. Blue light makes things harder to see for the human eye. If you look at true HID lights, the light they produce is very white, not blue. If you are going for the look of HID, get blue (because HID bulbs seem to look blue when looking into them, but they cast white light, while a halogen blue bulb will cast blue light)...

if you actually want to see, get white. The technology of regular halogen bulbs has really stepped up too, so it probably isn't worth the money to get HID conversions when you can just buy better bulbs (or the whole light in corvette's case)

Cool!

Sorry it's taken so long to reply to all of the good advise.....after reading and some more web search I think I'm going to go with the sylvania silver stars for now. I put them in my last car and they were great. Thanks for all the input. I am still planning on a HID upgrade, just gonna be awhile longer than originally planned..

Well I bought the silverstar lamps yesterday, pricey at $25 a bulb but what a difference. Well worth the money, bright white light and a nice pattern on the road......I would recomend them to anyone....
