Has anyone tried this part called the "Turbonator"? The manufacture claims that this small device will increase fuel economy by as much as 31% and increase horsepower by 35!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too good to be true?????

That's exactly what I thought about it when I read it. This device has been around for years so I thought I'd see if anybody actually tried it.....if they'd be willing to admit that they actually spent money on it.

If such a magic device existed and worked as claimed; the Automakers would use it, instead of spending millions of dollars in research and development in their quest for more efficient and powerfull engines.

Any of these things that advertise increases in power or fuel mileage for just a few dollars are basically worthless. Same with the "Tornado", the "Air Foil", the "Throttle Position Sensor" or even those magnets that wrap around the fule line. None of these things provide any more power increases than decals do.

Save your money and go for mods that do work. On a 300HP LT1 motor a 35HP increase is more than a 10% increase. That level of power increase will typically be in the very high hundereds or maybe even 4 figures to realize.

a few years back, somebody made intake manifold gaskets with 'bugscreen' in the ports...claimed torque and mileage increase...dont remember who it did it (old age--mind is second to go) but saw dyno tests by reputable source that those actually helped low end, at expense of upper rpm output...maybe putting a little 'beanie spinner' in can work on same principle--whatever that may be

ad wording "as much as" can be anything .000001% or more...nobody said "gain of 31%".....depends on what the meaning of "is" is.....intentionally or accidentally misleading--yes...not true?-no

Now wait a minute. Some of these gadgets do work. I installed a flux capacitor on mine, but around 82 m.p.h., I end up in 1955. I think it still needs some fine tuning.
