2000 pewter convertable 6m
I have a 2000 convetable, this weekend I had an issue with my lights. When I turned on my lights the lights would pop up and turn on but when I went to shut them off the lights would go down but then one would come back up on its own with the light not on. Never seen this issue before, I did replace my gears in the motors but that was 6 months ago. Too me it seems to be some type of computer glitch. I disconnected the battery to see if it would reset something in the computer but no luck. Any Ideas????

Thanks Bob..

Actually, Bob, I think this issue has come up before.

I did a review of the CAC's knowledgebase and found this Service Bulletin about Left Headlamp not staying closed. Take a read and see if this seems to be consistent with your symptoms.

There's also a service bulletin about an actuator replacement procedure.

Good luck, and let us know if this helps.

Patrick, I ordered the washers but I couldnt find where to get those insulators? Do you think I can get away with adding those washers and this will fix the problem? Its hard to believe that those stops are worn out.

Regards, Bob..

You can certainly try it without the insulators and see if it fixes it. If it doesn't (and I'd suspect it probably won't), you might try searching through some of the larger Chevrolet dealerships in your areas. I've found that the array of parts they can muster up or keep in stock seems to be in direct proportion to the volume of sales the dealership does.
