Has Mobil discontinued the M1-202?

I called my local auto parts discount place and the guy said that Mobil is changing it over to an Mxxx. They don't even stock it and said it could be in tomorrow. I asked him what the difference was and he said probably the length or something like that.

But I heard good things about the K&N so I picked up one of those to try out. Any other opinions on the K&N oil filters? The hex nut looks like it'll be pretty handy but I'm concerned about it breaking off.

They're all made by Champion labs ...just the media is different...a good filter with the same quality is the Bosch Premium....I personally don't like any Champion Labs filters and buy WIX or NAPA Gold (same !) which are some of the best on the market

I read a lab test somewhere that showed Purolator Pure 1 as being the best filter. I will say the differences between the Pure 1 and the other top brands (mobil 1 and K&N) was negligible. Regardless, the Pure 1 is easy to find at autozone so that is what i use now. PS: I don't remember where Wix or Napa gold showed up on the list, but they could be the same as the Purolator?
