scott - yes this will convert your solid window to a hatchback. this hatchvette kit NOS (new old stock) was manufactured by cars & concepts out of michigan in the late 78-79 era. the general (GM) even bought over 6k of the kits from them to install in the 1982 collectors edition. this is a complete, new, virgin kit including window with defroster, mounting hardware, struts, weatherstrip, decals & instructions. $3K. the last time one was on ebay, it went for just about that. the junk yards are selling the hatchback window from a 1982 collectors edition around $2K, but why would you want to install a used hatchback with worn parts on your vette?
