I had my head gaskets replaced at a Chevy dealership in May of 2003 and was wondering how long they warranty a repair of this nature. I am having the same problem again. I have a 94 LT1.

I would guess 90 days or 3K miles. But, that is just my guess. Unless they give you an explicit written warranty for a longer period, that is usually the rule.

Did the dealership give you any explanation for the initial failure?

Head gaskets aren't something that just happen to "go" without something else in the equation.

Have you engine overheated? If it did the heads may be damaged.:grouphug:

Assuming that you were getting water usage or leakage when you first had the problem, and are now getting it again (which may NOT be an accurate assumption), something I would check is to see whether there is a GM service proceudure requiring that head gasket replacements to aluminum engines (or ones with aluminum heads) require that they be re-torqued after some period of time. If the dealer didn't do this, then, regardless of warranty period, I would argue that their own failure to follow recommended service proceudres on this repair has caused the problem you are now having, and that they are responsible.
