How do i leave my head lights up, without having them be turned on?

Turn the head light knob to the headlight on position and wait for the head lights to pop up, then turn the knob back to the park light position. The headlights will go off but remain in the up position. If you have your fog light switch depressed then only the park lights and fog lights will be lit.

I am guessin' here

I read it once, but I believe you pop the hood and on each light assembly there is a knob you rotate which raises them. Just be careful when you lower the hood

There is no real way to do it on 'working' headlights on later C4's (1990 up)

If the headlights are not working, you can rotate the 'knob' on top of the black cylinder (headlight motor) and the headlamp will rotate open. it will take what seems like a million twists to get the headlamp to fully rotate open. If you do this, and the motors work, they will just cycle shut after the next time you turn the lights on and back off.... so, you gotta at least unplug the motor to keep them up (long term basis)

earlier C4's you can pull the knob all the way out, then slowly push it in and the lights will turn off, but headlamps stay up.

Why do you want to do this? Are you trying to change a burned out headlight? If this is what you're trying to do, you will need to have the headlight only half-way up, to have access to all of the screws you'll need to remove!

To do this, pull the headlight switch all the way out, to turn on the headlights. Next, push the switch all the way in for about half a second, then quickly pull the switch half way out to the parking light position. You'll have to try this a few times to catch it just right!!
