I have a '69 with a 327 with A/C and chambered exhaust. My question is there a set of headers on the market that are a dirrect bolt on. I want the shorty style so I can add the stock side exhaust later on. Don't want to modify the chambered exhaust very much. Looking for some horse power gains.

any one have any insight

The 80-82s had a factory shorty headers. They should work for you if you remove the air tubes. I have a set in the shop that came off my 80. Send me an E mail and I'll send you some picyures if you want. You can pick up a set of these for around $50-$80 on E bay. I'd even sell the ones I have if they will work for you.

From what I have read, shorties are going to give you little, if any, improvement over the stock ram horns. You need to get the full length tubes to get the power increases.

Heddman makes a header that feeds directly into the factory sidepipes. I think the primaries are around 30" long with a 3" diameter collector.
