Headlamp Switch

All,

Does anyone know the best way to get the headlamp switch knob off without having to disassemble the entire switch? I have an 81 Corvette.

Eric, There is a spring loaded button on the switch itself to release the pull rod.

Push the button down and you can remove the knob and pull rod. When you replace the rod into the switch listen and you will hear it click when the rod is locked back in. Fell around on the top or bottom of the switch until you find the little button. Hold it down and remove the pull rod. Sometimes you have the move the rod in and out a couple times to get it the release.
