Does anyone know what causes the headlamp warning light to come on in a 75. One night I was driving and I depressed the dimmer switch to go from high beam to low beam and the light came on. Now the warning lamp is on whenever the headlights are on low or high beam. Also the light only comes on when the headlight swithd is on. If I use the override to pop-up the headlights, it does not come on until I turn on the headlights. Please help!

The "generic" answer to your question is that the headlight warning light comes on when the headlight doors are not full open when the lights are ON. BUT...could be the switch is out of adjustment, broken, etc. I'd check them out. Hope this helps. Chuck

There is a small switch, one on each headlight assembly, that indicates that the linkage is not fully up and locked. There is only power to the switch when the lights are turned on.

Look up underneath the nose of the car in the large holes in the valance under the light assembly, you'll see the switch. It's either out of adjustment or broken free from it's mount.

That all makes sense. Thanks to all. I'll give the headlamp assemblies a look over in the AM for that switch.

Thanx chuck. One of the switches was broken off. I just unpluged it and the light went out.
