I have an '84 with a problem i hope someone can help me with. I seem to have to replace a headlight actuator relay every month or so. Anyone with an idea as to what would cause this?

Thanks

Are you sure the relays are actually bad? Try reading the coils with an ohm meter and make sure they are not open. You may have a bad wire or connector pin that is making contact when you install a relay but breaks connection after a while making it look like the relay is bad. Make sure you have 12 volts going to your relay coil and a good ground on the other end. Could be some ever so slight corrosion causing intermittent relay actuation. Maybe someone will have a link to a wiring diagram. I wish I could be more specific but I would start there. I can't imagine relays would fail that often unless you are getting some cheap after market stuff and they made a bad lot. I suggest the basics first. Look for any obvious physical damage or corrosion. Check for power. Check for ground. If all that is good you may just be having some really bad luck with cheap parts. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Mike
