On my 64 coupe, does the black wire go to motor side of limit switch? Is the common side of limit switch ground?

On my 64 coupe, does the black wire go to motor side of limit switch? Is the common side of limit switch ground?

I don't believe it matters which wire you attach to which connection. All the limit switch is doing is making the ground connection to the dash warning light to remind you if the doors aren't fully open when the headlights are on.
