I am having problems with my headlights. When I turn on my parking lights my headlights pop up.From what I understand,it is the control stalk,I read another thread where someone talked about repairing the control stalk. Can someone send me the link to that?? I want to try and repair it first.I know I will end up having to replace it but money is tight right now,Hurricane Gustav just about put me in the poor house, with all the missed work and the 900 dollar generator I bought 2 weeks ago. Also,my fog light/trunk release switch fell out of my dash,I thought it just snapped back in ,but when I put it in it doesn't operate the lights or the trunk release,if anyone has a link on that please post it for me.Thanks in advance...............................

Not sure if I have the same headlight motor but my 1990 firebird did this when you turned on the parking lights the headlights would pop up. then my motors would run excessively after they went up or down and would make a clacking noise. I ordered a rebuild kit for my motors and it stopped doing this. Just a thought may not be whats wrong with yours though.

But that cured my headlights popping up and the clacking noise they made. it's the plastic bushings that cause the problem I guess.

Thanks for the link,I really appreciate it.I will give this a try.My driver's side light motor makes the infamous "grinding" sound when I turn my headlights off so I know I will have to fix that too.Anyway, thanks again for the feedback everyone :beer :w

Then rebuild that motor and I bet the headlights operate normally then.
