Anyone know where I can pick up a couple of these? Mine have disintegrated...

I've checked all the normal outlets; Arts, Corvette America, Corvette Central, M/A, Zip and Ecklers

I honestly don't think you can get just the knob.....but wait!

The early model Fiero used the same knob as well as the 1982-86 Firebird. You may luck up and find one in the bone yard that the motor is otherwised trashed, and they will sell you a knob, or give it to you. You have to remove it very carefully because they break easy.

Finally, if you still have your knob, clean it out really well with some brake cleaner on the inside, and clean the shaft. Even better if you can rough up the female portion with a small ice pick tip, etc. and JB Weld/Epoxy the knob back on.

You will find them for sale on ebay under car parts....

Well, one of the junkyards came back with $20 ea!

An ebay search of car parts would return a million hits :-) Can you help me refine the search, or do you know they are there somewhere?

Tell you what I will do. That knob you see in that pic is on a perfect motor. This motor fits a Fiero (84-86). I really don't plan on owning another one, but you never know. However, I think I have three or four others in the cabinet that are known to be junk, and parts only motors.

"IF" I can get one of those off, or just dig out the whole motor, it is yours for the cost of packing it up and shipping it. Or, I might just send you the whole junk motor and let you try to remove the knob.

I guess $5-$10 depending on if I can get just the knob or a whole junk motor.

The best that I can do

Okay, I just went digging deeper in the junk drawer for you. I found a motor that had seen better days.

I really am not sure of the best procedure for removing the knob, so I just pulled the whole backbone out of it.

Just send me another email if you want this. What I do is just have you send me the shipping money. When I get it, I will send you the part.

Here is the back view. There is actually a metal insert in the plastic knob that seats it down tight on the shaft.
