On my '82 the outside lights are on for low beam. When I switch to high beam the right outside light goes off and both inside lights come on. The outside left light also stays on.

Should either (or both) of the outside lights be on for high beam? It just started acting like this.

Big Tex...

If i remember correctly, once you put the high beams on, the outsides (regular) should go off.
BUT: Mine are Halogen H-4 converted ones, so that might not necessarily be normal. Though you shouldnt need the outsides, once you throw them into highbeam, right ?
:w

On my '78 L48 without any modifications to the lights the outside "low beams" go off when I switch to "high beams" leaving only the inner pair of lamps on. I don't know if that's normal but its what mine does!

Tex:
I believe that you'll find that the secondary filament in your right-side low beam lamp is burned out - - all four lamps are supposed to be illuminated when on "high beam".

You can pick up the low beam lamp at Target or any auto parts store - - -I think there are four screws that hold the face plate on over the lamps - - the right-side low beam is about $5 and pretty simple to replace as I recall.

regards-
