Headlight sometimes stays up

My drivers side headlight sometimes stays up after I turn off the lights....I have to turn them off and on several time until it finally goes down ....the problem is only whith the drivers side not the passenger side .....any ideas on how to fix it?

Does it make any noise? With the hood open, can you see the motor turning, but the headlight staying up? The gears in the headlight actuator fail with some regularity. There are a couple of ways to fix it (IF that is your problem). You can replace the actuator, or replace the gears. I am sure some other members will have better information.
