Howdy everyone! What I have is kind of a headlight support problem.I have recessed lights(were on car when got it)and the long metal support that looks like it was origianlly glued to the bottom of the nose right at the tip of the hood as dropped loose.I was wondering what the best way to reapir this would be as there is no way to screw or bolt it up to the nose piece??Would a good silicon do it as it looks like there was originally a bead of something that just held it up before!
Any suggestions would be mighty helpful on what to use on this!
I have to take the headlights out anyways as they weren't installed properly anyways so might as well do it right all the way around!
Thanks for all the help in advance as you guys and gals always seem to find the answers!

re headlight support

I just worked on the same problem. The header bar was hanging off at each corner. It looked as if someone in the past had tried to glue it back but didn't hold. The header bar it riveted to a bonding strip and is the glued to the nose. What i did, since I'm already in the middle of fiberglass repairs, was I got a strong putty knife and a 3lb hammer (BE VERY CAREFUL) and seperated it from the hood surround, then ground down the old adhesive. BE VERY CAREFUL. I'm then going to bond it back up with new adhesive. I'm not finished yet as I have some other repairs to do in that area first. But I think that is the best way because you really have to clean up the underside of the panel to get the adhesive to stick

Thanks rebuilt,
I had a buddy stop over tonight that used to work on Vettes and he pretty much said the same thing.Fiberglass it back up and make sure I clean it up well before doing so to get a good surface.
