Headlight switch removal

Can anyone tell me how to remove the pull handle from the Headlight switch which is located on dashboard so that I can replace the switch. Tail lamps and dashboard lamps are not working. My car is 1982.

Take a look at the switch body, and you'll find a little spring-loaded plunger button sticking out through the metal cover; push that button in flush and pull the knob/handle right out. To install, just push it in all the way and the plunger will lock it in place.
