Hey Guys -

Anyone have any ideas on this? I'm thinking alternator going bad, but I don't know. The scenario: interior lights (and headlights will also behave the same way) are on and I quickly rev the motor....the lights will dim at the peak of the rev and then come back to normal.

Any thoughts out there? :confused

How many volts are you reading at? Are your avg. MPG down? If so, your alternator may be going south.

Those are good questions Edmond. I don't have an answer to either one, though. This just happened a few nights ago, so I have not really investigated the alternator, I just thought that maybe that is where I should start. Sounds like you agree....

Same thing happen on my '89 but I lost all electrical. No lights sometime, no start sometimes, all lights were flickering with rev of engine...drove me nuts...:hb untill I found the problem..directly under the battery is a 12v bus. Where 80% of the 12v needed on the entire car is derived from. This small plastic part gets so hot it melts and then starts banging around with every bump, causing it to loose all the 12v wire connectors. I'm not sure the '93 is set up the same way but ya might check it out. :Steer

Hi Ruby-I had the same problem last year my volts would jump around a lot at night for no particular reason-I thought it was the Alt. also but just to be sure I had my Battery checked and it had a bad cell -replaced it and it's been fine since then-Batteries are cheaper than Alt. :w Dennis
