I new to the forum, I have a 1979 corvette I love it! My dims aren't working I checked to see if the switch shaft came out of the electrical switch itself,it seemed okay, even tried another headlight and they still didn't work. Is there a way to test for a bad switch,or is there a relay that could be bad? THANKS FOR ANY INFO:)

Welcome to the CAC:w

No relay. Just test to see that you have voltage in and out of the switch.

Headlights

I checked voltage going to light sockets passenger side read 0 driver side read 0.02 checked connection from dimmer switch socket to battery reads 11.97, so I think my switch could be bad. So in order to replace the switch, does the steering column have to come completely out of the car? On a scale of 1-5 is it a major undertaking?

Best way to get easy acces is to remove the steering wheel and the speedocluster. Then you are right next to it. I would say 3/5. :)
