On my 2000 corvette the headlights are set to come on automatically with the Twilight feature and I can't turn it off. This has something to do with the daytime running lights up here ( Canada) . Is there a way to switch it so that I have to turn the lights on with the switch instead of having them pop on automatically. The stupid things pop up if a big cloud comes over and c'ant not put the twilight off

thank Cuvette

I had the same problem when I start the car in the garage. I turned it off now I have to use the switch to pop-up the lights. Follow the steps in your owner's manual.

Since you have the Canadian version of the C5, the owner's manual steps to turn off the twilight sentinel won't help.

There was another thread about this a while back here. It is going to take some reprogramming to do it.

Did Canada did that so people don't accidentally run over draft dodgers? :L

The ambient light sensor is a light sensitive transistor that varies its voltage signal to the body control module (BCM) in response to changes to the outside (ambient) light level.

Ambient Light Sensor is located in the defroster grill on the dash.

There has to be a way to fool the circuit into thinking it is still light out. Maybe one of the electronic wiz kids here can figure out how to relace the ambient light sensor with a standard transistor or a jumper.

Had the same issue with my 2002 vert. I found the ability to turn this feature off in one if the DIC menues. I think it was setup or options. When you scroll thru the menue you should see one that allows you to disable the Twilight feature. Check your owners manual.
