Heat from Trans Tunnel

I noticed my right leg getting awful warm this weekend on my 96. This is a new phenomenon. Seems to be hotter if AC is on, although I dont know how that would relate. Any ideas? Heat shield falling off?? or something.

thats some thing i had when i had my C3 corvette stringray. on those years there is a seal that pretty much wraps around the trans to devert heat away from the tunnel area. But i have no idea if C4 have them, my 86 has nothing like that. but why are you getting it all of a sudden like that??
