So now that I've replaced the radiator the heater core is now leaking. I also replaced the radiator cap, that was waisted, with a knew 15lb cap. I'm guessing that the new cap caused the 30 year old core to start leaking. So know I'm asking, whats involved with changing the heater core on a 75 with a/c?

73 with air here...

the passenger side dash panel.....the heater ducts....air ducts....and a cable or 2....and kick panel on passenger side too....there is a vacuum line there as well....there are screws in the engine compartment side of the firewall 3 i think in mine....and the hoses run down tward the ground and out thru the bottom...while i had the heater stuff out i cleaned it and installed some small rubber o-rings that made some squeeks and rattles go away....took me about 4 or 5 hours to complete.....the cost at most stores was $65 to $70 when i told them i had air......the non - air was $30 ....i found the one i needed at Murrays for $30....told the guy i had air and he said come and get it....it matched perfectly.....i hope this helps bud...remember, this is a 73 im refering to....Good luck...Chas

Vettedude73 pretty much covered it , drain and remove hoses from underneath first. then the bolts that go through the firewall and the rest is inside, I took my seat out to make it easier on my fat a**. There is a joke that the heater core is the first thing on the assembly line and the Vette is built around it;LOL it may seem like that but it is not that bad a job.

Thanks guys. I've been reading past threads on this also. I haven't looked closely at the dash at all. I didn't realize that you could remove only one side of the dash. It still doesn't sound easy but I think that I can handle it. Of course, a bypass is in order until I get more time to fix it.:drink
