I've only had my vette for aboul a year and I found that the airconditioning was not working very well. I found that the heat was never turning off. I checked the switch, which is working OK, yet someting keeps the heat flowing through the vents. I did change the radio and was wondering if I could have knocked off a vacuum line to the heat valve, but I can't seem to find the valve. Any help would be greatly appreciated it gets worm driving around sometimes, although the engine runs nice and cool.:cool

Attached to the right inside fender of the engine compartment you find a heater control valve. It will have a vacuum line attached to it and 2 heater hoses. Possibly the vac line is unplugged or failed. The valve may also be failed, it is available at Advance Auto for aboout $20. (just replaced mine solved the problem) or you can install a manual shut-off valve ahead of the heater control valve.

Heater

I could not find the heater control value on the right side fender. The heater hose's go from the water pump and intake man. directly into the heater core box along with the a/c lines. I've heard that some 75's are slightly different. anyways it's still giving me heat. It was a but worm yesterday.;shrug

Ther should be a control valve of some sort if you car is equiped with a/c. It might be easier and it will stop the heat, to put in a manual shut off in the heater line and open it when you need heat. bobchad thats some good stuff!!!!!
