:w First I would like to say hello again. I left that cac for while. The reason was I sold my 86 last year to buy my wife her first house. Since then I quit the sheriff,s office and went to work as a master planner for a oil company.
This took place last year, and I then got shipedtoAruba ( That was nice of them).
Well, to get to the point I will be coming home to Baton Rouge in mid-march. And my wife gave the OK tostart shopping for a C5.:D
So I have a quick question, Is 20 to 25 thousand a fair price for a good C5. I usualy stay around C4's Ilike those but I really want a C5this time. so anyhelp would be great. Thanks and good to be back in the Hunt.:)

Motorman,
Welcome back! :)

The best way to see what C5's are going for (retail) is take a look on Ebay. (Think of Ebay as a sort of reality check. At what threshold are cars meeting a reserve or getting winning bids.)

I suspect Early C5's will likely be in the range of $25,000 to $28,000, depending on mileage. I think anything after a 2001 is probably going to be pushing over $30,000.

Good luck with your search!

Motorman,

Glad to have you back!! And good luck in your search for a new Corvette. I think the hunt is almost as much fun as the "find"!:)

Welcome back Motorman. I am sure that you will be able to find an early C5 in the price range that you are looking at. Keep us up on how the search goes and I am sure the members will be able to help with any questions you may have.

Thanks guys, sorry it took so long to get back to you. It is kind of hard to find a internet conection down here.
One other question. I have been shopping on corvette trade .com is this a good place to be lookin?

And by the way if you get a chance to come to Aruba, Do It. this place is great.

Aruba is a great place. You are making an assumption that she is dead. There is absolutely no evidence to support that. People disappear in the United States every day and are never found. Maybe we should boycott all 50 states.

Aruba

Well, if she is not "sleeping with the fishes" somewhere down there, she is more elusive than Bin Laden given the size of the island.

One might be more apt to agree, if there had not been the instructions from a certain young man's father about, "no body, no(...)"

I will NEVER set foot on Aruba.

Let them rot in the sun; I "vote" with my $$$.

How many times was that brat accused of date rape?

Regarding here "being somewhere else" ..... spare us the bullshizz! If your flipping precious Vette was missing, you'd be demanding a Senate investigation .... should that happen ... I hope Ted Kennedy "chairs the recovery effort".

Folks,
At the risk of engendering some bad feelings, let's remember that Motorman's original question had to do with finding a C5 at a reasonable price, not starting a discussion about Aruban missing persons investigations.

If that part of the discussion continues, this thread will end up getting moved to the Edge. Let's try to stay on topic.
