2004 Z16 Commemorative Edition Z06
Hello Everybody...was informed that this was an excellent forum. I just purchased a new-to-me 2004 ZO6 Lemans Commemorative Edition last Thursday and I love it. The last Corvette I owned was a 1995 model over ten years ago...its great to be back behind the wheel of a Corvette again. Looking forward to reading and learning more about the car from this forum and its members. I'm like a kid at the candy store looking and searching the net to find out more on my new-to-me ZO6. I've also been spending more time in the garage lately.

The second attached thumbnail was taken at the dealership when they were doing the final delivery clean-up...

Welcome to the CAC and congradulations on the new Z16!! Make sure to register your ownership at www.z16.org. There is a wealth of information about our CEs there. By the way I've got #1689 and love it!! Permagrin is a wonderful thing...

Welcome to CAC! If you want to join a good club, check out Valley Vettes. I belonged when I lived in Huntsville and they are a great bunch of folks. Charlie Brown, one of the guys there when I was there, had a Z06 just like yours. Zeke Jenkins has the best Corvette shop around and I would trust him with my Vette before any dealer. If he hasn't retired his shop is Corvette Unlimited off of the North Parkway. They also sponsor an autocross sometime in November that is pretty well attended.

Randy, WELCOME to the CAC! :upthumbs

You will have a great time here. Lots of nice folks and LOTS of nice lookin' Vettes! :thumb

Your paint scheme is one of my favorites. GM certainly knows how to make a Vette generation go out with a bang!

While you are enjoying driving your new Vette, please be sure to SAVE the WAVE! :w

Welcome to the CAC from a fellow C5 Z06 owner. You'll love the car even more once you start driving it around the back roads.

This forum and its members are awesome. I have learned so much about my car from the links and references you all posted...you all are great.

Elaine - thanks...its one of my favorites too and now I have one.

Ron - I've known Zeke and Barbara for over 30 years...he repaired a '75 Stingray for me back in the late 70's and did an excellent job. I emailed them earlier today to find out when the club meets for dinner. Also met a lot of the members of Vets with Vettes at a car & bike show Saturday...they also have a excellent club. I was there showing a 2007 Boss Hoss V8 Motorcycle and won first place. I've attached a picture of it...it has a ZZ4 350 GM crate engine with Holley 750, upgraded cam and rocker rollers producing 385 HP. It's a real thrill.

Big Jim - Thanks...I have registered it with Z16.org...I am #1810 on page 18 listed as Harry R.

A V8 motorcycle?!? Now you've got a new assignment! You need to start a new thread in this forum:
Off Topic
...and tell us about your cycle and your first place win - congrats!

Hope you enjoy your stay with us!

Randy,

Vets with Vettes was just getting started when I moved out of Huntsville. Bill Lange got that group started and is a great guy also. Mike Counts is in that club and he and I go way back. Mike Campe is in the Valley Vettes club and again a long time friend. Tell Zeke and Barbara "hi" for me and any of those others that I mentioned.

Right before we moved, Zeke put new brakes on my 88. He wanted to make sure everything worked correctly so I let him drive and I was the passenger. Being a long time autocrosser he did things with my car that I could never do. At least I know the car is capable even if I lack the skill.

Randy's Z06.jpg...my new avatar pic. Of all the dry pavement around I just happened to be parked where the water was coming from the building's HVAC unit.

Also there's a funny story with this picture...I had lunch with an old friend yesterday that took this picture and sent it to a friend we both know in St. Louis who owns a Z16 just like it. Anyway, the friend in St Louis sent it to a lady I used to work with here in Huntsville...she emailed it to another friend who then forward it to me. It's the first I've seen of the picture. Its funny how news gets around so fast.

BTW Ron...I will tell the Valley Vette folks hello for you. I think they meet the first Tuesday at Lonestar on University Drive.
