I just purchased a Aux Fan Switch from Mid America for my 94 LT1 Coupe so while trying to install it the directions tell me to find the Primary fan relay and hook one wire to cavity 86 the Dark green/white striped wire, well guess what? theres not a dark green/white striped wire coming from the primary fan relay, then it tells me to find the secondary fan relay and hook the other wire to the cavity 86 the dark blue wire, well guess what ? there is no dark blue wire on the secondary fan relay............anyone have any suggestions as to what wires to use? there are only 4 wires coming out of each relay.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks:confused

fan switch

hey caddy... I have a 95 vett & I put the same switch on my car... On your primary relay there will be a light green thin wire cavity 86.. you can open the relay & see, on the secondary relay cavity 86 the thin blue wire is the one to splice into. you can run one or both fans. I run both it will cool down much faster... good luck if you have any questions just e-mail me.... rob

Rob, Thanks I'll give it a try I'll let you know how it comes out.......question
so if I hook one wire to the light green on one relay and the blue wire on the other one and then hook up the ground, turn on the ignition and then flip the switch the fans should turn on? or does the engine need to be running or does the A/C need to be on?

thanks

fan switch

hey caddy... splice the thin green wire on the primary relay cav 86,& the thin blue wire on the secondary relay cav. 86 hook up the ground to the kick panel where your left foot rests while sitting in the car. use a magnet to find metal to drill a hole, run the wires thru a grommet just behind the battery, once you have it all hooked up turn the key on flip the switch both fans will come on. I would use both fans, you can use one if you want both will cool quicker.... let me know... good luck.. rob

Rob,
It worked like a champ, at first I hooked everything up and the fans didn't work or the A/C, needless to say I went into a frickin' panic, well as it turns out I blew the fuse to the fans, once I replaced the fuse and turned on the ignition and the switch......touchy' all worked including the A/C...........thanks alot..

:beer Here's to you!
