HELP: c6 lowering

Is there an issues of lowering the c6 to low? My 09 was lowered by a Vet shop "all the way down to the spring". It handles well and looks great but I have other issues. The front fender clearance (floor to bottom of wheel well) is 26" and the rear is 27.5". Does going to low cause other suspension issues other than bottoming out if your not careful? I have no idea what the difference is from stock to current.

First, we have to make an assumption about "all the way into the spring"....presumably that means this "Vet shop" lowered the car by turning the "spring screws" all the way into the control arms.

With C5/C6, GM specifies a minimum height as far the spring screw adjustments go and on C6 it's. As to what happens if you set your screws below that, I am not sure.

Check your front and rear alignments after lowering the car.

Are there issues, other than bottoming, which come with lowering the car? If the spring bolts are set below the min. height, maybe. If they're set at the min., other than the a more harsh ride and the possible need for an alignment, probably not.

For C6, the spring bolt height spec is 0.945 and the book says the range is 0.2 either way, to, theoretically, the minimum bolt height would be 0.745.

Thanks for the information i'll check it out tomorrow. From what I understand the pucks are just about touching the springs.

Don't forget Hib's admonition about realigning after doing ANYTHING with the suspension. The C6 really hates the smallest problem with alignment, and will reward your neglect by trashing the tires faster than you would ever imagine. The Z06 will even eat the inside fronts with a perfect factory alignment. For max wear they have to be set a little off-spec. For anyone not completely familiar with C6s, stock is still the way to go.

Thanks of the I/P, I had the car aligned. The dealer found the problem it was with the rear lowering bolts. They fixed the problem and sent me on my way.
