can anyone please point me in a direciton to find out how to change my o2 sensors. I keep getting a 420 and 430 error code. I'mhoping this is something easy that I can do myself.

Thanks

Sorry I can't advise you Terry... but I can give your thread a bump to keep it near the top. ;)

First, know that DTCs P0420 and P0430 do not usually set for failed oxygen sensors. When those codes set, the only time you replace sensors is if one or both rear O2Ses (ie: bank 1, sensor 2 and bank 2, sensor 2) have sustained physical damage or damage to their wires or their wiring harness.

Typically 0420 and 0430 set when the engine's catylitic converters are failing or have failed. If you've gotten those codes, have then cleared codes, had them both reset and there is no physical damage to the rear O2Ses, it is likely you need new cats.

My suggestion is to obtain the 2005 Factory Service Manual and perform the diagnostic procedures listed in the Manual for those two codes.

Lastly...."XLR8" is it possible to move this thread to "C5 Technical and Performance"?

Hib, I can move it there for you. Here we go.
