i,m running out of options ,since my tack also stops working when the fuse blows ,is it possible it has something to do with distributer or its components . i can drive 35 to 40 miles an hour and no problems but once i hit around 45 mph it blows . the alternator is ok every thing else looks tight . its a 1980 corvette l48 auto with HEI distributer

If the vehicle has a lock up torque converter, try unplugging it at the transmission and see if the fuse blows again.

I thank you big time.

It's your torque converter, not your transmission, but when they break down they usually contaminate the transmission at the same time. Seen it more than once. ;)

Enjoy the summer.

Maybe the TCC solenoid is shorted.
