I am in the middle of putting my headers on and I can't get the passenger side to fit. The steering dampener is blocking final installation. Summit racing says they fit. What have others done that use Heddman Elite long tube headers? I have read plenty of post that indicate many people use these headers. What are the options for moving the steering dampener. It is inside the frame. Please advise ASAP.

Thanks
Bill

I notice in the other thread that those that responded used shorty or block hugger type headers. I don't see any responses from anyone using long tubes.

For long tubes I see two possible numbers for the L81 in the Elite line. 61308 is for use without smog pump and 68308 is for use with smog pump. I assume that one of these is your set. Both parts have footnote 100 in the notes column.

Footnote 100 says "will not fit steering damper inside frame".

I don't know what your options are for moving the damper. You should call Hedman Tech Assistance and ask what they suggest. I'm sure that they will have an answer.
