Yes, whitewalls were an option on early Corvettes. Why do you run whitewalls on yours?

Also, please vote in the poll above. This is a multiple choice poll.

well, I have narrow whitewalls on the car but they were on there when I bought it.
When I replace the tires I'll most likely go to blackwalls........ although with my paint color maybe redlines might look good too.
Hmmmmm, will have to think about that one

Because in my era, they were "cool" and were more expensive thab blackwalls.

:_rock

My car has had narrow wsw since I purchased in 66, wouldn't look the same to me without.
I think 67 Heaven would be more of a attention getter with Wides.

Blackwalls

I prefer blackwalls, more sinister looking. :cool

To each his own

In my modest opinion the use of narrow whites on our 60's circa Corvttes will give the car a more finished look. Here are two examples of the same car, one with, one without, decide for yourself.

I use redlines because of the color, but other colors would suggest whitewalls. Blackwalls look too "modern."

Also back in the day, almost all premium grade tires were white walls. And because the tires were symmetrical if you didn't want whitewalls you just mounted them on the inside.

I have raised white lettered tires on mine, because that's what most of them came with back then. I have Firestone Indy 500's on mine, and although they didn't come with Firestones, they look great. I think all the early C3's look great with white lettered tires.

There are two different size width WW's.. On Size is I Think 1" Wide... Can't find them anymore in a Radial Tire only 3/4" or narrower.

Ther is a definite difference in first time appearence between the 1" and 3/4" size. You can see that the 1" looks better..

You should change the poll to reflect the Size In ( Inches) when you say Wide WW Vs Narrow WW.

Me likey the Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide .WW:D

WSW tires

i think WSW tires look good on wheels with hub caps but BSW look better on mag type wheels. JMHO

Mount a set of these puppies on the Red Rat and you'll be slammin'. :cool

;LOL

Dude...I ment Like ..1"...Day Be Truck-en Tires... Yeoooowww

I come from the whitewall era. I think a C-2 with full wheelcovers looks correct with a whitewall tire and would not look good with raised white letter tires. I also think the later C-2's with the rally wheels look great with a red line depending on the color of the car. I think a C-3 with a rally wheel looks the best with a SOLID raised white letter tire. Although my spare is a Firestone 500 with a very thin whitewall....I think it takes away from the wheel. When they came out with the Firestone wide oval raised white I never cared for whitewall tires again. If I could not get the raised white I would go blackwall. Just my opinion.

I didn't like the wide WWs even when I was a kid (a looong time ago). My '65 had raised letters when I bought it so when I got the bolt on knock-offs, I bought a set of thin WW Michelns. I sold the rims with tires at a swap meet at Lowe's Motor Speedway just to get rid of them.

:cool
