Hi.

I am installing a hot cam in my l98.

I put the engine at 0 degrees ( crank at 0 degrees ).
Then I took out my old cam. Now the mark on the crack is pointing 12 o clock. Should I install the cam at 12 or 6 o clock?
How do I set it up?

THanks

Since the cam does a 360 for every 720 of the crank it really doesn't matter. One just has to make sure of ignition after all is buttoned up. On my '96 lt4, the cam chain lines up with dot on cam at 6 and crank sprocket dot at 12 for more sure alignment. However, the Opti is usually replaced with cam dot in the 12 position since that is TDC compression for #1 cylinder. You should check further with someone more experienced with L98.
