I've got a question I've been trying to get answered. I have a 327/365, 1965 conv. and have the M-20 trans. I've installed my shifter to the triangular mounting plate that attaches to the trans and keep having a problem with the top bolt that holds the shifter to the plate. The bolt slids thru the shifter and threads into the plate. The problem is, when I tighten it down just a little it squeezes the shifter lingages to where its hard to move (or shift), when I don't tighten it enough, when I shift it keeps turning the mounting bolt, loosening it up, till I'm sure it back out. What exact size bolt should I be using OR , am I suppose to be using a pin with a lock...what is correct....if it's suppose to be a pin and not a bolt, why does the mount plate have threads for a bolt.....I'm lost...help
