Help with breaks

You might want to think about checking ALL your fluid levels on a somewhat more frequent schedule than whatever you are doing now.

It could be, I am guessing, the fluid has never been checked & someone wore the pads down to nothing and (of course) the fluid level dropped.

There is barely any info to go on by the OP.

Check my brakes one reservoir was empty does that mean I have to bleed my master cylinder[/QUOTE. The car has been sitting for five years. I did not see any physical signs of wear it has been leaking. Did a gravity bleed seem like it was working when the car was off break Got hard as soon as I started the motor they got soft. Check my master cylinder did not see any air bubbles when I press the brakes. Did see some fluid come in but I believe that is normal. And when I press the brakes real hard I hear something and the carburetor. ??????

You have a brake fluid leak somewhere in the system. Could be the master cylinder; could be any of the calipers.

Where are you located in the US. If you're close to me (Monmouth Maine), I invite you to put it on my lift at no charge so we can both have a look. This is a safety issue.
