After adjusting my windows I was putting on my door panels. Due to the previous owner I had to splice some wires. couldn't get my wire nuts or anything to work so I was simply twisting them and taping over them. Well before I could tape it one of them hit the door metal or something and I heard a click, and the interior door lights and hatch lights went out. What could it be? I can't find a fuse for interior lights... Did I just burn out the bulb?

It's 200* outside and I am getting so ****ed at working in a cramped space I have to just come in and chill for a while... As soon as this happened I just threw everything down and came inside.

Uh oh. You probably blew out the control module for the interior lights and timer (and probably your center-console hatch release won't work either). I did the same thing myself when fixing a broken wire in the passenger under-dash-panel light.

The module is located behind that panel under the passenger side of the dash, near the ECU (if the 84 has the ECU in the same place). It's probably taped up out of the way, so you'll need to twist around and look for it. It's a small black box about 2" square with a screw tab on one end and a connector on the opposite end.

These are made of Unobtanium. I've seen quotes as high as $50 at Carlisle (last year, though I did get one for $5 by salvaging it myself from a parts car). There are several people who fix them, though. I think Eagle85C4 is one of them. You can also pull it apart and look at the smoked capacitors and try and replace them yourself. I have my old one here and I plan to do that sometime as a spare.

If you need more help, or think that's not the problem, feel free to ask...

Oh, and if you do remove the passenger-side dash underpanel, be aware that there's not much slack for the light wiring. Pull down gently and disconnect it at the socket or you'll break the wire same as my car's previous owner did.

Man, it appears you either shorted out the fuses or fried a wire or two somewhere. IF it's a fuse----On my '93, the MAXI fuse block is under the hood and list: INTERIOR LIGHTING (20A). Right of the dash (open passenger door to access), is the fuse box. But you know this though, right?
The f.b. lid list RH CTSY (5AMPS) and LH CTSY (20AMPS).
Pull and check those fuses too.
If that's not the problem, my guess is you're gonna have to get out your service manual and run a wire check.
I don't know how helpful it'll be, but the Chilton's GM Corvette '84-96 Repair Manual has wiring diagrams listed in Section 6. At least it'll give you a place to start eliminating wires.
Good luck to ya.

Yeah I checked the fuses... I think it is the module referred to in the first post. :(

Try the fuses at the top on the pass side fuse box I think its the third fuse to the right on the top starting at the left side of fuse box.

Echlen has the relay its black and has 3 prongs on it hope you have small sholders.:beer
