I've been browsing this site, and found Fastguy's method to replace the heater core.
All has been good with it, except for removing the support bar that goes across the heater core's plastic housing. The bottom bolt came out without a problem using a 13mm socket, but I cant seem to fit anything in the space between the top of the heater core's housing and the bolt that fastens the top of the brace.

Anyone have any experience on this? It seems like I'm missing something obvious, but i don't want to force the socket between the top of the housing, and the bolt, and break anything.

If you need more info just ask, thanks.
