I finally decided to figure out why My right inner brake light/turn signal shorts out. I can get my hand on the little three wire harness no problem, but I am unsure how to take it out. I felt the three wires and they don't feel loose going inside the harness. I am thinking it is the bulb went bad when that f!@#@# hit me coming home from BG. I am afraid of breaking the backside of the light. Also what kind of bulb do I need to get to go back in there?

I just took the entire bumper of my 84 so I'm not sure it this will work for you or not. I felt around the circumfrence where the connector enters the light housing. There is a tab that sticks up. You squeeze down on that tab and then rotate, counter clockwise I beleive and it lines up the groves and it basically falls straight out. Putting it back in is the reverse. Just get it back up there, slowly turn until it lines up and then turn the rest of the way and it will lock into place. That tab is what locks it in there tightly.

The bulb has the number on it and I purchased mine at autozone. I did buy the LL (long life) ones. They say LL on the packaging. If you are up under there, you might want to just do all 4 of them at once. They are a pain and one that you only want to monkey with one time, not 4 times. Plus, they come in two packs anyways, you may as well just get two packages of them.

With a little help, and knowledge, the problem is fixed.

Yeah but if it wasn't for my the whole fixture probably would've come out with the bulb.
