I need some help. I haven't been able to work on my car lately but now im relocated in southern California and am at it again. can someone please tell me why my car runs like crap with the computer connected and runs smooth as can be when the ecm is unplugged completely. hot or cold it runs for a minute and dies. no ecm and runs/idles fine.

Sounds like a PROM/ECM glitch to me. Any codes stored on the computer?

sounds like to me too. new ecm and swapped proms to see if there was a change. new dist cap rotor coil pickup coil module temp sensor temp sender o2 sensor and no codes. the check engine light works I grounded diag term and got normal flashes for diag mode.

Sounds to me like the thing I have, an open loop problem (or unwilling to go into closed loop). Try warming it up without the ECM and then reconnect it with the dwell meter connected and see if it is pinned or not.
