I am so pumped right now, I just took delivery of one of the last new '04 Z16 in the area, test drove it off the dealership showroom floor on Friday and negotiated my butt off to get the best deal I could until this evening. It's in my driveway and this thing is AWESOME!

My wife and I just went Friday to see a C6 and a C5 ZO6 side by side, so we drove for an hour to find the only dealership in the area with both... To me personally there just was no comparison, the 04 Z16 won hands down in looks, sound and everything that matters to me. My wife even said to her there was no comparison between the two. The C6 is nice but it sems to have taken a step towards being 'a car' while the Z16 screamed 'I am all a vette is supposed to be!!!' I know the C6 has more creature comforts and is 400 hp, but it does not sound like it should and the looks are a little too domesticated for me.

I am still stunned that I actually have one! :_rock Pure happiness!

EagleFlight,
Congratulations! There is no other feeling in the world like bringing a new Corvette home for all the neighbors to see. Expect some sleepless nights in the next couple of weeks, were you wake up and go downstairs just to stare at your new ride in the middle of the night.

Absolutely wonderful experience- enjoy it to the fullest! And that's before you actually start driving it through some nice country roads!

Congrats again, and welcome to the CAC! Post some pics when you get the chance!

Congrats! The Z16 is my favorite C5! 'Njoy

Calif break-in!

Eagle Flite,
You are probably not aware of the Calif. break-in requirement for all Z16s. Federal Law!!
Not wanting to see you get into trouble with the feds I would be willing to drive the car for the necessary one year statutory requirements. No need to thank me. Please ship the car to my house.

Thank you very much!

Lar

Congratulations! Drive it in the best of health. It'll take you a long time to remove that smile from your face. Enjoy!

Dang! Way to be quick on your feet, Larry. I wish I'd thought of that line... er... very truthful statement and warning that EagleFlight would be well advised to follow. :D

Don't kick yourself too hard Patrick, it doesn't matter since NO ONE ELSE drives this vette! :Steer

Still smilin', man this car rocks! Sounds great and just GOES!

Congratulations on the Z16. Everytime I see one on the road, I say, "Holy $#@%, look at that!!!":L

Congrats on the new Z!:beer It's hard to get the @$&% eat'n grin off your mug when you crawl out of one of these things isn't it? So, wanna talk mods??:D

Mods...

Z06 Tom,

As far as mods go I am more of a keep it original kind of guy... :upthumbs I like to buy what I am looking for and then keep it like the factory for a long long time. I have a 1996 Ram Air WS6 Trans Am, first year for a Pontiac ram air package since the 60's. I bought it after seeing those babies running the IROC races during those years, they looked awesome! It was my daily work driver before the Z16, the WS6 has a total of 41k miles over 8 1/2 years and you could eat off of the engine (305 hp, 335 ft/lbs torque), it looks as clean inside and out as the day I bought it, interior, engine, and body, just as it was built. I have had it up to 147 mph and have been through a few sets of tires... It is probably one of the few from that period that haven't been mod'ed up or significantly altered. My '67 Mustang vert and the '67 vette are exactly the same way, low miles and as original as possible. In the long run I think folks appreciate that...

That's the way I like 'em and a glimpse into what will probably be the future of this Z16. :cool To each their own! :beer (I do like your new hood though, pretty sweet!)

Thanks Eagle. Yeah, I just can't seem to leave things alone. Gotta make it unique. The Z16 is unique the way it is though.

BTW: Wanna race?:D
