Does it do any damage if you run it a little too hard and the rev limiter cuts in? I have done this twice.

Hi gcm -

Not that I can tell - I have bounced off it many times in my z, and no deleterious effect has shown up in 47k miles.

I will be replacing my valve springs soon though - just as insurance against a broken valve spring.

The limiter is there to prevent you from spinning the engine fast enough to cause immediate damage.

best regards -

I bounce mine off the rev limiter quite often with no ill effects over 100,000 miles and running as strong as ever; the harder you run them the better they run.:upthumbs

I have done this too! :Steer

No damage to the engine will come of it and it is better to hit it going up then going down in revs.
