Am I missing something? What is it that makes this car a Callaway edition especially when he added that stuff himself.
Just my .02

Kurt - Welcome to the :CAC

Callaway JUST came out with their C5 product line and it didn't look a thing like that :confused

Hopefully they will add something to the ad to clarify...

Again, Welcome :beer

Well I don't want to bash the guy for being hopelessly misguided but he seems to be one of those people that think all bolt ons have cumulative effects. Add an air foil - 10hp ; K&N filter 15hp; pulleys 25hp; headers 50hp; muffler bearings 10hp ; bling blings 20hp; vendor stickers 100hp. Once you add all that stuff up it's easily 500hp at the wheels. ;shrug

When you go through a Corvette book and add up those potential HP increases with all those bolt on`s it`s very easy to come up with nearly enough HP to be able to race a fuel dragster. I refer to this type of HP to be bench racing where the mouth goes faster than the car.:duh ;LOL

The ad says he's never smoked INSIDE the car. Doesn't say WHAT he was smoking OUTSIDE. Just like all the ricers. "The air filter box said it add 10 hp! The chip was 20!" They don't realize that the 20 is only good on an otherwise stock car. The hp gains don't all keep adding up like that.

Thanks for the welcome *89x2*.
So far I really enjoy this site and hopefully one day I will be a Corvette owner again. I had a 86 convertible about 10 years ago and miss it pretty bad sometimes. I have a 88 Trans Am GTA right now that runs low 13's and is faster than the Vette was but it just aint the same.

I joined up here to learn as much as I can about Corvettes and Callaways in particular as I want to purchase a Callaway convertible as soon as funds permit and revive those days gone by but this time at a faster rate:_rock .

Best regards,
Kurt

Good deal :upthumbs

After buying my first Vette, I too got a (89) GTA (the whole 4 seat thing attracted me) Car ran 14.3 stock and in an effort to get more out of it, got it down to 12.2@115 (on the lil' 245's w/ the 3:27 rr) Still have that car and drive it weekly:Steer

Soak it up all the info here at the :CAC
