Holley Carb Application / Question

I've been searching for a Holley 2818 (p/n 3849804) for my 64 327 x 365hp motor.

I've read somewhere else that another owner of same used a Holley 1717 (p/n ????) for his application.

What was this Holley 1717 600cfm used on and is it a possible correct application for what I am looking for?

Is there any good website for this sort of information ?

Contact Holley, they are now remaking this carb.

I've never heard of a 1717 Holley; the "new" 2818's are available, around $600 or so, but are service-dated (if that matters to you). OEM-dated 2818's show up occasionally on eBay, but most are rough cores that will need a LOT of work by a professional rebuilder.

The new ones are NOT dated and also have the correct numbers. Dating is "extra".
