so i get my square bore intake installed on the 454. i install my holley carb.

it started and runs perfectly but here is the kicker it has vacuum leak. when i spray the the secondary throttle shaft the rpms drop.

i am guessing that the throttle shaft is worn and that is my leak. i just wanted confirmation that a worn shaft would do that.

thanks

i guess i answered my own question. i put some grease on the secondary shaft where it goes into the throttle base and the rpms dropped way down.

looks like a new base plate is in order.
easier than trying to ream and press in bushings
