:);helpI have noticed that the hood in the front where it comes to a point in the middle, down by the headlights is about a 1/4 of a inch lower than it should be.
Can anyone explain to me what type of adjustment is needed and what needs to be adjusted.
If not, I may take it by a body shop one day next week and let them look at it.

Thanks to all:)

There might be an adjusting rod of some type ahead of your hood in the headlight panel. Open your hood , it should be visible, you can adjust the headlight surround panel to meet your hood at the tip, there's other ways also. That's how my 70 coupe was done maybe yours is the same. Good Luck

Also, there are shims under the hood hinges to raise or lower it. Check to make sure something has not broken loose on the front nose assembly that caused it to drop down.

I didn't notice any type of ajustment on the headlight surround panel.
The shims you speak of, or they on or under the hood hinges themselves, or under the front mounts that also connect to the front part of the hood?

Hood Adjustment:

Well I took my Vette into this guy that is suppose to be good and have a lot of knowledge with Vetts and fiberglass. A paint and body guy.

He said the reason the front tip of the hood is under the front noise is that because the front noise has been pushed up.

He said that the previous owner was problay parking or something and went over something to high. He said the it needs to be corrected not only for the looks, but the noise and all or in a strain.

He want to put it on his frame machine and slowly pull it down.
I'll let yall know how it turns out.

If anyone else has a similar problem, this may have been what happen.

...He said the reason the front tip of the hood is under the front noise is that because the front noise has been pushed up...

I don't mean to second guess your body man, but you cannot push the nose of a C3 up without breaking something. Have you checked for prior collision damage? If he's talking about a frame rack, your body man apparently suspects she's been whacked.

:)

I had an 80' that did the exact same thing. The hood matched up on the sides but the center point was about a quarter to half inch down and the closer I looked, it looked like the piece surrounding the headlights wasnt adhered (glued down) to the brace anymore but when Id push the surround piece down it would bow on the outsides, I ended up getting rid of the car before I got it fixed but you might want to see if the piece is still glued down properly to the brace. I know my old car did get "bumped" right on the nose at one time.

That' OK.
He did say that there is a rod on each side that looks like they have a little bend in them, holding the noise up. I think that is what he will try and pull down.
I am trying to find someone else that might know Vette's for a second appen.
