;help Does anyone know what the hood clearance is for a 1972 LT1 hood? Currently I have the stock low profile hood and I'm having hood clearance problems. I was wondering what the difference in hood clearance would be if I purchased a LT1 hood. Thanks…

I can't tell you what the hood clearance differences are, but someone here likely will. I am going to assume that you have modifications done to your car that keep the stock hood from closing or from rubbing on your air cleaner?

Hood clearance with base, LT1 and 454 hoods is all the same.

The only hood with additionial clearance is the L88/ZL1 hood with the extra, rear-facing bubble or "power bulge.".

Yes, I'm in the process of installing a 383 with a high rise manifold. I know the stock hood will not work.

So, the Stock hood, LT1 hood and the 454 hood all have the same clearance. Correct?
