This is how the hood was modified after the 502 Ram Jet was installed.

I wanted the air cleaner to be able to breath cool air. And, I think it looks pretty good!

I Like the look!

nice work pal.:upthumbs :upthumbs

i guess this depends on your driving habits, but are you all but prohibited now from driving in the rain?

does look cool though.

:nono :nono :nono No way. Never :Steer in the rain. I will never take out my '78 in anything but perfect weather. I always check multiple weather sources before cruising because if one of them says clouds then I don't go out with her. Just have to take those precautions... :)

VERY NICE HOOD!! I do love it. It's great. How did you do it? Did you just cut a stock hood? Maybe L88 hood? Hmm..I can't tell. But very nice. :)

was just a question.
I guess i wont continue into the arguement between you who have spoken and people like me who wanna drive it all the time.
Stallion, living in NJ has to make your trips infrequent.
oh well.

I see what you mean, Tom. Before I bought the Corvette, I had that same idea. Just drive her and don't worry about anything. But now that I have her, I just don't want to see anything slightly bad happen to her. And in bad weather, it can get bad. Also, putting on tons of mileage to a stock all #s matching special edition Corvette isn't all that good of an idea either.

See what I mean? I hope you understand me and don't think that I'm going to make the Vette a trailer queen. I won't go to that extreme. If it's a nice day, I drive her. :)

I try to take my car out in nice weather, but a little rain never hurt anything! The car was designed to withstand adverse conditions (even though mine leaks under moderate rain). Maybe it's just because mine isn't a garage queen (more of a work in progress), but I drive it whenever I get the chance. If by chance, I ruin this one (some say I already have), the General made 15,000 more for me to recapture... ;)

By the way, awesome pic! Comes off well. As for the hood, my guess is that it is an aftermarket "stinger" hood with a custom cut...

Found this picture of his car in another thread.
