I got a gas strut hood prop to replace the scissor type and I do not understand how to bolt in the lower part. The part that connects to the hood is simple enough but how do I connect the lower part?

Pictures would be great!

Thanks!!!

thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well I got the gas strut in. For the record I ordered a gas hood strut with the brackets from http://www.vette2vette.com for a great price. It was only $55 shipped to my house!!!

This is a used gas strut from a LT1 Corvette. It took some minor drilling on the mounting bracket but it works great and is alot better than the scissor oem unit. Plus I dont see why I should spend $250 some odd dollars on the conversion kit.

Vette2vette is a decent guy to deal with, though he has the habit of sending out the wrong parts first... He does usually make it right with minimal hassle, though.

I was intending to buy the same setup from him but for some reason never did. Wish I had, now, as I almost got KO'd by my hood the other day (bumped the scissors with my shoulder and knocked it out of position).
